OUR BROODMARES - Keys to the Future of the Breed

We realize the stallion is only one-half the equation in producing a foal that will be an asset to the breed.  The second and equally important half of the equation is the mare . The miniature mares we use for breeding at Scott Creek are evaluated as rigorously as are the stallions. 

Most homebred broodmares with our Scott Creek prefix have successful show records.  We believe a show record is important to validate the quality of proportion, conformation and movement through competition.  By showing, we get opinions from qualified authorities as to the worthiness of our horses (and breeding program) when compared to others throughout the country.`

Purchased mares who fit the type and charisma of Scott Creek supplement our brood stock.  These have previous successful show records or impeccable pedigrees with parentage well recognized in the show ring.  Many of these mares have gone on to produce exceptional foals who have been stand-outs in their own right.
